Are you trying to get on with things in life, but your negative thoughts and feelings get in the way, leaving you feeling anxious or depressed?
I specialise in helping you to free yourself from anxiety and negative behavioural patterns that have taken hold leaving you feeling stuck, confused, and even more anxious. Nothing is more exhausting than battling with overwhelming feelings every day and not knowing what to do with them.
You may be experiencing:
flash of anger
a sense of feeling stuck, confused or anxious, whether in your job, relationship or
other aspect of your life
over-sensitivity and anxiety much of the time
a feeling of being overwhelmed or out of control
having negative thoughts that can spiral out of control
having low self-esteem
Blaming yourself over and over
depressed moods and lack of motivation
difficulty finding a sense of purpose and making decisions
relationship difficulties - either clinging to a bad relationship or allowing a good one to spiral out of control
career difficulties - finding yourself either stuck at a job that you don't like or not being able to find a job suited to your skills or potential
Read more about how you can free yourself from these negative emotions and patterns and how I can help you in this path.
About Gita Arbabi
My name is Gita and I am a qualified and experienced counsellor and psychotherapist having a consulting room in Dalston, Hackney (E8)
I specialise in psychodynamic psychotherapy, which uses techniques to get to deep-rooted issues that may have their origins in your past. I'm passionate about helping my clients to become free of their inner struggles and conflicts so they can feel untrapped, being able to move on and enjoy a better healthy life.
Everybody’s therapy journey is different because everybody’s personal situation is unique.
All my clients receive the same level of high quality, professional care, tailored to meet their own individual needs. I'm very aware that in choosing me to help you, you're placing your emotional and mental wellbeing into my care. That's a huge responsibility and one I take very seriously.
I currently work for NHS Homerton Hospital as a psychotherapist. I also work as a counsellor and therapist in private practice, Bank City of London and Euston and West hampstead.
I have experience in working with a diverse range of people in the voluntary sectors, the NHS and in private sector. This has provided me with the opportunity of working with people from different backgrounds and with different psychological distress such as depression, chronic fatigue, anxiety and panic attacks, addiction, sexual abuse, trauma, grief and bereavement.
I have also volunteered for Samaritans providing emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress, despair or suicidal thoughts.
I trained at WPF, one of the leading training centres for psychotherapists in the country and continued working with people from the diverse range of backgrounds and different psychological distress at this institute.
I hold a Post-graduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Theory and Practice from Roehampton University.
I also have a BSc in Psychology and have done a great deal of research on human behaviour and mental health.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)and the Foundation for Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC) and I abide by their ethics, standards, and practices.
